Can I Visit Both Disneyland and DisneySea in One Day?
A local explains whether you can do both parks and gives honest advice.
“Can I do both Disney parks in one day?”
Technically yes, but I strongly advise against it. You won’t enjoy either park properly.
Why One Park Per Day
“Why not both?”
Each park needs a full day:
- Tokyo Disneyland has 40+ attractions
- Tokyo DisneySea has 30+ attractions
- Wait times can be 60-120 minutes for popular rides
- You’ll spend time eating, shopping, and watching shows
- Walking between parks takes 15-20 minutes
Rushing through both = enjoying neither.
If You Only Have One Day
“Which park should I choose?”
Choose DisneySea if:
- You’re an adult or couple
- You want a unique experience (only DisneySea in the world)
- You enjoy beautiful themed areas
- You like thrill rides
Choose Disneyland if:
- You have young children
- You love classic Disney characters
- You want the “traditional” Disney experience
- You prefer gentle rides
Park Hopper Option
“What about the park hopper ticket?”
There IS a multi-park ticket, but:
- You can only enter the second park after a certain time
- You lose time traveling between parks
- You miss the evening shows at one park
- Only worth it if you’ve been before and know exactly what you want to do
What Japanese People Actually Do
Most locals:
- Visit one park per day
- Buy annual passes if they go often
- Know that DisneySea is the better park for adults
- Visit on weekdays to avoid crowds
