You might think these places are only for Pokémon-aged kids, but honestly, I’ve visited many aquariums in Japan and:

• Hakkeijima Sea Paradise was the most exciting — with high-quality shows that were better than some theme parks!
• Aqua Park Shinagawa impressed me with its modern design and easy access.
• Sumida Aquarium is small, but nice for a short break while sightseeing in Skytree.
• If you want something more artistic, DMM Kariyushi Aquarium in Okinawa is truly unique — though far from Tokyo.

Even though I love Okinawa, Churaumi Aquarium (while large) didn’t feel as fun to me personally.
