Is the Ueno Okachimachi area quiet and good for kids?
Visitors to Japan can bring refillable water bottles and easily refill them at parks, stations, or convenience stores for hydration on the go.
“Hello!! I am traveling in april 2024 to japan with my 4 y/o son. I booked at the ici hotel ueno shin okachimachi. Is the eno okachimachi area quiet and good for kids?? Is it easy to get around from that area?? Thank you so much”
Yes, Ueno-Okachimachi is a hidden gem that can be enjoyed both in the morning and at night. There are many train lines within a 5-minute walk, and Ueno Station and Ueno Park are just a short distance away. Ueno Station is a major hub where you can catch the Shinkansen and easily access anywhere in Tokyo via the Yamanote Line. If I were visiting Tokyo as a tourist, I would definitely stay near Ueno or Okachimachi Station. Ueno is a lively area where you can enjoy shopping at Don Quijote, department stores, and souvenir shops all day long. However, if you’re looking for a quieter place, areas like Suidobashi or around Tokyo Dome might be better. Also, some areas around Ueno Station have many izakayas, so it’s best to avoid walking around late at night.
